Sorry, I didn't mean when he went to the Ducks, but prior to 2010-11 I heard some rumors Oilers weren't happy with Cogliano's progression, after his numbers continued to decline after his rookie season. They qualified him to a bargain basement contract of only a million on a one year deal, just so they could trade him in the off-season. KHL bound might be the right term, but at the time it didn't look like he was going to have a long career, but instead would have to follow the paths of Robbie Schremp and Nilsson (who both eventually headed to Europe).
