I once had a boss who's mom wanted to name him Epiphany, however, she didn't know how to spell the word and on his birth certificate, she put 'Phippny' He went by 'Pip' and refused to talk about it.
My dad worked with a guy named Phil McCracken for 30 years and never thought twice about it until we were sitting at the dinner table one night and he said 'My buddy, Phil McCracken at work...' and my brother and I about died laughing. He said no one ever made fun of him or thought twice about it. :/
My youngest son has a friend who has 7 kids in his family. They are all named after States. Her name is Georgia, there is Dakota, Carolina, Texas, Utah, Florida and Montana. They live in my neighbourhood.
I have worked with a Shameka, Shanequa, Shanaynay, Lashonda, Laruneela, and a woman named 'Delicious' (Not a stripper, she was in customer service and that was her real name).
There are several kids in our local high school named Porche, Mercedes and Infinity.
Oh, and personally- I really don't see anything wrong with the name 'Summer.' It's a hippy name, but it's pretty.
