A friend of mine recently started dating a younger woman, and he's baffled at the hourly texts she sends him with the most inane and content-less messages, expecting him to respond to them immediately. How did the human species manage any kind of emotional contact and socialization before texting and twitter?

Agreed it doesn't make them better fans. But I think it is just another form of communication. Different strokes for different folks. Not better or worse just different
