This is what Fletcher did to us with Gilmour. We've waited two decades for vengeance. Let it be a blockbuster served ice cold.
While I agree with your assessment of Burke knowing exactly what he's getting with Kadri, and with what Toronto needs, I also don't assume that Burke is necessarily trying to get to the front of the line with whatever it takes to get him and that the Flames fleecing (let alone "winning") the the Leafs in a trade to get him, is a blockbuster.

As with all Leafs, there's a definitive percentage of uptalk on a player's ability/importance/potential, due to all the media heads needing to fill radio/TV airtime and newspaper articles with Leaf related news. Kadri, a local kid, who had run ins with previous coaches and had/has a bit of the attitude, gets and has gotten that air time. A shortened lockout year, is/should not be the basis for anyone to be basing projected stats, and that's his only decent year in the league.

This year, he has as many goals as Monahan. He plays over 2 minutes more per game, and has a poorer faceoff percentage then #23. A good player, and the ability to be maybe a really good player...but if he's on the block, it's quite possible that Caryle is tiring of him as Wilson did...years later.
