The trajectory is probably just the usual prospect thing where there's one guy who has had to face the reality of the NHL and a younger guy who looks better because people are projecting his NHL future.

Haven't watched him now that's he's back, but Mikael was looking really good before his injury, perfectly within reasonable projections of where he might be at this point in his career - a second line center.

It would be optimistic to say that Markus is a second line center in the NHL when next season starts.

Like you'll always hear people say, Markus is more of a shooter whereas his brother has the vision and the passing. Markus at least used to be feistier on the ice and his game doesn't rely as much on open ice, so his transition into the NA game might have been less painful. Mikael still outscores him based on his talent, but he had to struggle a lot to find a way to translate his game.

People who watch the Heat will know what's going on with Markus this season.
