How does the foam compare to the pocket coil or other types for motion transfer? I look at the"bowling ball mattress" and can't help but think that the sheets well cause transfer anyway..

Not a problem hope I could help, If you want you can come down to where I work and I can show you a couple mattresses and show you kind of how things are, don't worry there won't be any pressure to buy it will be more of a informational thing then anything. As for foam mattresses, they are pretty good in regards to motion transfer because as you move around there are nearly no vibrations throughout the foam especially memory foam, so whoever is on the other side should not feel you moving, unless your almost jumping and moving the mattress. Having a foam mattress, sometimes it does become hard to move around because your body is in the "groove" that you have created.
Yes the bowling ball bed is known for its minimal motion transfer. Now that's from the coils itself, because the only coils that you are affecting are the ones directly underneath you. Other companies like sealy will use foam to help deaden the vibration in the springs to prevent motion transfer.
