Canada has a very different attitude towards 16-19 year old hockey players than the rest of the world, mainly because of our quasi-professional junior leagues.

They had over 11,100 for the Sweden game yesterday. They will easily break the attendance record for a World Jrs held in Sweden. It is picking up support over there. They had good attendance last year in Russia as well.
It wasn't always giant in Canada either. 1995 was hosted in Red Deer...
