Default Weird or ridiculous names.

I see people with these outlandish names and I feel sorry for them a bit. I went through school with a kinda girly name, but it isn't totally out there. My name is Brook. Every other person I've ever met named Brook was a girl, though the name was usually spelled with an 'E'.

My wife goes to a website dedicated to babies and pregnancy, and frequents the forums. One topic that comes up all the time is baby names. Some are normal, some are cool but a little out there, and then there are these gems:
  • Percius
  • Novakai
  • Xerxes
  • Tesla (I love the man, but that isn't a first name)

Some of you may also be familiar with the area I live in; the West Kootenay region. We have places like Nelson, which is an awesome town with tonnes of character and great little niche shops. Another brilliant area is the Slocan Valley, or 'The Valley' to us normies. I love to go to these places to walk around, shop, look at the beautiful buildings, and especially people-watch. Being the small town kid that I am, I stop and chat to people. Some of these chance encounters allow me to exchange some semi-private information with people. Namely names. Here are a few of the choice head scratchers that have completely stumped me:
  • Sunwalker (tries to be normal and goes by Walker)
  • Wolfchild
  • Morocco
  • Dayzee Fawn Royale Pettlepeice (real name)

I try to be as fair as fair as possible, but some times I can't help but judge the people, or, more accurately, the people who named them. Who could name their child Xerxes?
