I primarily agree with your statement, however, he does not turn over the puck in his end any more than the other "D" members. He has a good outlet pass and given more time, I think he will show that he can compete and keep his position as a third paring defenceman. Other than Gio, he is one of the better D at being physical with opponents. Wideman will hit forwards coming into our zone along the boards with a hip check but when it comes to work along the boards he is a pusher rather than hitter. The latter also skates to long in one spot.
