Seems like a tradition on here so here we go.

Twas the night before christmas and all through the Dome
Not a thing was stirring, not even the phone
Brian Burke's christmas freeze was in full effect
So players on the roster would not have to jet

The Flames faithful were all snuggled up in their beds
In bedrooms that were painted in yellow and red
Trying to ignore that the team was in a funk
And too be perfectly honest, most were quite drunk

While all the other fans dreamed of winning it all
Flames management dreamed of players over 6 feet tall
Except for that small Johnny Gaudreau kid
Who stands like 5'6 but plays like Sid

The fact of the matter is the team needs a change
And a couple of 1sts in the 1 to 5 range
And a big strong centre who can hit and bash
Unlike Matt Stajan who falls on his ass

And a big young defenseman with skill and good luck
Instead of Chris Butler who turns over the puck
And Brian McGratton is throwing big fists
Sending the opposition to the injury lists

It will be a christmas much further in time
When all of the greatness will fall into line
Up until then the Flames fans at least
Know that they will always be better than the Grease.
