I liked the AK-47, it wasn't the most accurate rifle in the world but it had killing power and range. It was simple to clean and maintain, but you could drag it through mud and leave it in water for weeks and it would still fire. It was reliable and a soldiers fire arm.

I far preferred it to the Nato adopted rifles of the day.

Sadly it also became the defacto weapons of terrorists around the world due to the above and its cheap pricing.

The design was ingenious though.

During the vietnam war American soldiers would pick the AK up and use it instead of the M-16 due to how bad the first production run of the M-16 was.
