Default Mikhail Kalashnikov Dead

I was not a fan of the AK-47. I thought it was clunky, inaccurate, and the damn forestock got way too hot when fired for a long lenght of time.

There is no argument thou, that is was a game changer. It was simple, easy to make, easy to use, and seemed to be indestructible. The arming of uneducated/untrained soldiers/persons became a lot easier when this "hit the shelves".

Viktor Chulkov, a spokesman for the government in Udmurt, where Kalashnikov lived, is quoted by RT as saying: “Today sad news has arrived that Mikhail Kalashnikov has died after a lengthy illness."

He had been in hospital for more than a month with heart problems.
The AK-47 — “Avtomat Kalashnikov” and the year it went into production — is favored by guerrillas, terrorists and the soldiers of many armies. An estimated 100 million guns are spread worldwide.
