The Bruins offered him nothing. He was one of the players they decided they would have to let go after last season (as seen in the first episode of their behind the scenes show).
We have no idea what offers Ference received on July 5. There was speculation that Feaster offered him a deal, but he chose the Oilers, and Feaster ended up getting Russell instead...So, that worked out doubly well for the Flames, if true.
