If Monahan wasn't going through the minor injury with his foot, then I would have liked to see him in the WJs. I thought differently before, that he should remain with the team. But it would've been exciting to see him lead team Canada and play in a tourney where he could really rack up some points and do what he didn't get an opportunity to last time and redeem himself a bit. Like Sven, his offense has dried up a bit, and a couple week excursion to gain a good experience and beat up on some of the other highly touted kids could've been fun to see. A little more fun than Hartley giving him enforcer minutes in some pretty meaningless interconference games. So you could say it's for selfish reasons.
