I was actually taught that in drivers ed. So yeah, it's a courteous thing, but it's also the RIGHT thing to do.
Move over or make a gap that allows traffic to merge. Both motorists have equal rights in this situation. How do I know this? There used to be a goddam SIGN on NB Macleod where Bannister rd merged that explained how merge lanes work.
