I went looking for a plot synopsis of Interstellar because it looks awesome and like MattyC says, has a message that I very much agree with, and there (purposely) aren't many details:

There are still a lot of questions revolving around the plot of Interstellar. According to the plot synopsis though, a team of scientists and explorers are sent to investigate a newly discovered wormhole connecting Earth to a different region of space. There are also said to be hints at time travel and alternate dimensions.

I just hope the rumours of climate change being the driving force behind the whole movie aren't true... or at the very least handled well and don't have the characters going "if only we'd recycled and rode our bikes more".
