I kind of doubt that it will be Nieuwendyk because I don't think he actually wants to live in Calgary. I have very little to back up that opinion, but I have a feeling.

At any rate, given that Burke seems to love this town, and it would appear that he is set to make it his permanent home (again, maybe I'm reading too much into it), I think the new GM will be someone who sees Calgary as the place he would like to be long-term, over and above getting the GM gig of an NHL franchise.

I have no idea which of the prospective candidates are very "pro-Calgary", but I suspect that their respective opinions of our city will have a large impact on the search.
