We just learn to disassociate ourselves from the lesser qualities of the city, I think.
It's a fact, our club district is stupid. But really, what did you expect when the only thing to do is there drink, drugs, and listen to the same 40 songs played at a dangerously high volume, over and over. It's a well-formulated hypnotism they've got going on here. Even the lyrics reinforce the narrative several times a minute. Add strobe lights and it may as well be a science experiment.
It makes a few millionaires a ton of money, the police get a big kick back from it, and the province controls the sale of liquor so they turn a blind eye, in fact, they don't even have to turn their eye because they can't see what's going on through the stack of money they've made.

So yea, we're stuck in enemy territory, and the enemies are tools, but their territory.... it ain't so bad.
