Except the team said the exact same things. Keep hoping and praying there isn't a problem with Baertschi's attitude, but the reality is that the management of the team said as much. Add in he's been sent to the minors and it's all the evidence that is needed. How he reacts in Abby will determine if he has a future with Brian Burke and the Calgary Flames.
Seriously, any player that thinks because he has a whopping 25 NHL games under his belt he has the right to skip the prospects camp is ####ing delusional. The NHL still classified him as a rookie coming into this season, and so did the team. Indicating that you feel you don't need to be at the rookie camp certainly spells out that you feel you are entitled to something the club doesn't believe. When you show up and give a half-assed effort it screams attitude problem. Those are the facts, all supported by management's commentary and actions. No assassination of the kid's character on my part. He has done that with management all by himself.
