Now I took it mostly as a young immature kid not knowing how to speak to the media, but it did smack of excuses. In fact, the last Flames prospect to make that ridiculous claim that any league below the NHL was "too slow" for him to succeed in was Leland Irving, and he's in Finland now.
I just wish Sven owned up to his struggles instead of making up a stupid excuse that made him look entitled and selfish, because, I really don't think he's a bad kid at all, but I do think he has some maturing to do, which is why the AHL and Troy Ward is probably a good thing for him at this stage.

That's fine. But you also have to remember that English is not his first or even second language. Hockey players are not poets or philosophers. Something like this should not be blown out of proportion to the extent that it erases all the positives we've seen from him.
Baertschi does not have a bad attitude... it couldn't be further from the truth. And that frustrates me.
