Did he have a bad attitude when he took the blame for the loss against Chicago 2 weeks ago? Or when he was sat all these times this season? This is a kid who wouldn't even switch his number because fans had already bought jerseys with 47 on the back.

Remember when the coaches couldn't pull him and Granlund off the ice during the first rookie camp he attended? Remember when he finished top 5 in physical testing at camp this year?

Yeah, never mind those things, because there is a rumour that he didn't want to go to the rookie camp this summer.

The reason why he only has 11 points this year is because of his bad attitude. He lost a check against Taylor Hall because he has a bad attitude. He iced the puck against Chicago with 30 seconds left because he has a bad attitude.

Yeah, grow up, Sven Baertschi. How dare you only score 11 points?

This team is long for skilled players if this is how we handle the growing pains of our young talent.

If Baertschi had taken the same exact penalty Colborne took 2 games ago, we wouldn't hear the end of it from people like you.
I have high hopes for Sven and hope he turns into the top 6 winger for the Flames that is expected; however, I will admit to having some of the shine wear off with some of his comments this summer regarding his play in the prospect tourney.

He was asked why he struggled and he said paraphrasing that he felt it was because he plays better with NHL guys and the prospect tourney was too slow.

Now I took it mostly as a young immature kid not knowing how to speak to the media, but it did smack of excuses. In fact, the last Flames prospect to make that ridiculous claim that any league below the NHL was "too slow" for him to succeed in was Leland Irving, and he's in Finland now.

I just wish Sven owned up to his struggles instead of making up a stupid excuse that made him look entitled and selfish, because, I really don't think he's a bad kid at all, but I do think he has some maturing to do, which is why the AHL and Troy Ward is probably a good thing for him at this stage.
