Feaster was handed an aging, entitled roster and managed to initiate the process of turning towards the future. I'm not entirely sure it was his decision to hold onto Iginla and Kipper as long as they did, thereby diminishing any potential return, but he did have to bear the responsibility of trading the best player in franchise history. All in all his tenure was significant, and in my opinion largely positive. My two cents says the team is headed in the right direction, and I hope the new manager does not pursue a course which is heavy on the introduction of veteran players at the cost of young, however unproven prospects.

It was two deals that Feaster didn't pull off that ultimately led to his demise. The ill fated efforts to obtain Richards and O'Reilly. Thankfully neither of those deals came to fruition. Both would have had a significant long-term negative impact on the organization. It was only a matter of time before he was replaced after the O'Reilly fiasco.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling Mr. Feaster. Good luck to you and yours, sir.
