The only warning I would give; when using an inverter make sure you get one that is rated for 2.5 times the power you need. So if the lamp has a 60 watt bulb, get at least 150 watts of inverter power. Most inverters are sold based on peak power; and are rated for 50% of that peak power for constant use. The remaining bit is what I use for a margin of error.
