So since my last update in August we have been quite busy here at the house. Its been overwhelming at time but we have managed to get a few things done so far. We are taking a bit of time now to breath and concentrate on understanding the design/flow of the home so we can establish how to properly renovate the interior to our wants.
Anyway since we moved in Aug 1 - Oct 26 we have accomplished:
- Cleaning/Sanitizing the home -this was priority #1
- ripped out basement carpet, removed drop ceiling and one small wall. Repainted the basement (left ceiling open to joists) and installed new carpet
- Installed new high efficient furnace and hot water tank. Had them repositioned to recover about 30/sq/ft in basement
- New shingles installed on roof
- all gutters cleaned roof and garage
- Complete renovation of downstairs bathroom
- All new windows installed and two new doors
- minor trimming of trees and shrubs and first attempts at recovering the lawn (which was waist height in weeds when we purchased).
