And Cowperson, I've been to your blog a few times, I love seeing happy Goldens with room to roam. If I had a bigger yard, I'd get a retreiver (probably black lab, that's what I had growing up(RIP Darcy)) in a heartbeat.
We do have a cat. I think he is a bit neurotic. He doesn't mind being alone, but if my wife and I aren't in the same room, often he will go back and forth scolding us (I can tune him out but it drives my wife nuts). When we sit on the couch to watch TV, he hops up between us and sleeps.
Other times, I will be on the computer in the basement and he will curl up nearby to sleep. I'll go upstairs and if I don't come back I'll hear meowing until he finds me again. He's a good cat, but I still miss a good dog.
