I think rabbits just hate closed doors. Rufus used to hate it when he found a closed door. He would scratch at it, push it with his head, stand on his hind legs and lean on it if he found a closed door. I think it was a matter of him knowing that a room exists on the other side of the door and he wanted to be able to have the option of going there if he felt he needed to flee or hide. On a number of occasions my wife and I would be in bed watching television with the door open just a crack when it would slowly open about 4 inches. Rufus' head would appear in the opening and he would give us the "just checking" look and return to whatever he was doing.
