Speaking of poutine, we gave Smoke's Poutinerie (18th ave, just off 4th street) a try last night. Maybe it was the fact that it was -40 last night, and I was hungry as hell... but man did it hit the spot.

I just had the traditional (straight up gravy/curds) and it was perfect. Perhaps a little bland out of the gate, but I'd prefer to add my own salt/pepper anyways so a sprinkle of each and it was great.

As for fast food chain poutine... I find Burger King's to be acceptable in a jam. Once in a blue moon if the wife is working and I've got a saturday to myself I'll hit up BK while running errands just for the poutine.
