This old canard.
The overwhelming majority of what is going on is a push back to religion creeping into politics, education, and our personal lives. The internet is mainly behind this "pushy atheism" which is silly to call it that because its a reaction and response to what is pretty clearly a lot of people fed up with religion dictating laws, policies, creeping into education, and of course denying gay rights, attempting to end abortions, and a long long list of issues.
If atheists were quiet, as you seem to suggest we do, then there is little opposition to these things, sorry but if that is pushy to respond to bad ideas with alternative ideas then call me guilty.
