The decisions on who stays will greatly depend on what the flames think it will take to keep them and how much they could get for them.

To keep cammalleri, it will cost around $5.5 million per for 5 years. I know everyone here prefers the 3 year contracts for guys over 30 but it's not realistic to think you will get that for him. If he stays healthy and keeps producing like he has, he will be the most sought after forward at the deadline. His best competition will be gaborik and vanek but he's having a better season than both of them and his cap hit is lower too. Plus he is a proven playoff performer and powerplay specialist. I would like it if the flames retained some of his salary to sweeten the deal but not sure if they will. If they did, he should fetch a 1st round pick and B+ prospect,

Stajan might be one of very few centres available at the deadline so that could increase his value. He's having an ok season so far statistically but the stats don't reflect how well he is playing. Any NHL scouts that are watching him will be able to see that and it should also make him more coveted by other teams. His cap hit is managable and he can play up and down the line up. Contenders really like to add extra centres like stajan. Part of me thinks he could return a first round pick if there is a perfect storm of teams bidding for him but it is more likely he brings a 2nd round pick. He is a similar asset as Chris Kelly and he was traded to boston for a 2nd round pick. To keep stajan, it would probably cost $2.5 million per for 4 years... Which wouldn't be that bad considering he is a center who can play in all the situations Calgary needs and he can play against the top players of other teams in order to shelter the young guys for the next few seasons. However, I would rather that job go to backlund if he can keep playing like he has over the last few games.

Stempniak is a streaky scorer at times but he has played well all year. When he's on his game like last night he does it all... Score, forecheck, slick plays, hard hits. I think he would be a good option to keep cause I think he wants to stay and he could probably be signed for a reasonable amount and term... Probably $3.5 million per for 4 years. He would probably return a 2nd round pick but I think he would be more valuable to keep,
