Rufus was cage trained but would occaisionally let loose a few pellets of poop when he would get excited or to mark that he'd been in certain spots of the apartment. Rabbit poop isn't a big deal though as it is pretty dry unless the rabbitt is sick.

I took Rufus outside on a harness a few times. He wouldn't walk with me or anything crazy like that but I did take him to the park a few times so he could chill out on the grass with me.
One thing to keep in mind is that some caged animals can develop a "sky phobia" where if you take them outside their mind is blown because "There's no ceiling up there, man." If that happens to your rabbitt then odds are pretty good that you'll never be able to take them for a walk.
