If it's big news, sureLoss makes a thread, which is the best option since it allows us to discuss that news alone. If it's a rumour, he posts it in the rumours thread.
If you want to know at an instant when sureLoss makes new posts on rumours, you could go to his profile page and subscribe to him to keep updated. There's not really a need for a news only thread which we cannot post in. There are alternative options available if you want to see breaking news content without comments, such as Twitter.

I think it's useful to have on the forum, some others feel the same way, it worked great last year with the CBA news, why not with trades? But I'm not going to fight CP, who constantly shoots the idea down like they're Apple vs a young competing company.
