I know they love their 80s nostalgia so much in Edmonton that it's constantly pregnant and forcing children trapped in 1985 onto the rest of the world, but why does Rogers insist naming things the most generic, forgettable things ever? They now have Rogers Centre, Rogers Arena, and Rogers Place, and if you aren't paying attention it'll be impossible to know which one is where. What you will know is that you feel no sense of attachment or affection to these structures, because of the monolithic, visibly unpleasant if not outright evil corporation that lends its name to all these places for gobs and gobs of money!

Now there's nothing wrong with corporate sponsorship. The Flames have had lots of it, from Canadian Airlines, to Pengrowth, and now here we sit with Scotiabank. But what do we still have? The ####ing Saddledome. Hey Rogers! Try this:

Rogers Skydome.
Rogers Coliseum.
Rogers Tire Fire.

But I understand. Attachment is bad. It leads to the dark side. For reasons.
