Oh I agree with what you say here, and I totally think their are politics in picking these teams. There's politics on picking the Peewee 2 teams, it's from the top down in minor hockey. What I don't personally believe is that Brent Sutter would have any real grudge with the Flames, at least not to the point where he would purposefully want to leave players off the team. Most of these guys just want to see these junior players succeed. Case in point, I know for a fact Lowry hates anything to do with the Flames right now, but still gave a glowing review of Keegan Kanzig to the flames scouts when they asked him, because he wants to see Kanzig succeed more than he wants to not see the Flames succeed, if you get what I mean.

I completely agree that he wouldn't make a grudge decision towards the Flames. Even if he does hold a grudge, there are too many variables. Hell, he chose Girard - maybe Girard gets traded to the Flames in the summer. Just saying who knows.
So yeah, I agree that it is unlikely.
