First of all, I absolutely do not think that happened.
However, if he wanted to do that, it wouldn't be that hard. It's not like we're talking about Drouin here. It is a situation where you are down to 2 very equal players. Choosing this player over that player is not difficult to understand. And arguing the case to convince the others is simply how the process works.
If he wanted to exclude Poirier out of spite (again I do not believe that) all he would have to do is keep arguing that the PMs are too much of a risk. Eventually he would get his way.
Question: do you believe there are no politics in picking these teams?
