I more or less agree with the rest of your post, but this is not true.
The effort is there almost every night this season except a couple off games. You can tune in expecting the effort. Last year I stopped tuning in cause it was never there. It's been much more enjoyable following the Flames this year, despite their shortcomings in skill and defensive play, for me anyway
