That's the only reason I've gotten this far. It just bugs me that the series can do so many things right, yet so many others wrong. The way they treated Shane in the show is so much better than in the comics (a slow burn to crazy instead of quickly snapping), everything they've done with the Darryl character has been great (who doesn't even exist in the books), and zombie Sofia walking out of the barn to get gunned down by Rick is one of the best scenes from any TV series period

For me the show works best when it takes the source material as a loose inspiration, but it seems like this season they had a direction they wanted to go and then abandoned it for whatever reason to get the Governor and his battle scene in there. And the whole battle looked like a bad B movie, right down to the horribly cheesy acting job by Rick and Carl finding the empty baby carrier (the kid who plays Carl has no range). It's just such a frustrating show to watch because while it's not bad, you know it could be so much better
