The team would be better with Gio back plus a healthy Wideman, that would improve everyone's rating (Gio is pretty much the best d man on the team) and points (PP should improve)

Like I said, he's average. He's has average "checking" ability, average goal scoring ability and can't fight.
The Flames don't have anyone to come to his "aid"(and don't say McGratton... Ference never would have fought Mcgratton) They don't have that luxury. A player in Stempniak's position
on the Flames needs to be able to take care of himself.
The team as a whole needs to get bigger/tougher, but he's part of the "problem" in that regard.
