This game did highlight one of my biggest pet peeves ever though - BJ Ryan gave up his first earned run of the season today because of the ridiculous "defensive indifference" that allowed the Angels lone run to get from first to third. For the life of me, I will never understand why teams ignore baserunners in that situation. Runs that don't matter now can start to matter in a real hurry if you arent careful.

Holding a base runner on creates holes in the infield, which can go from bad to worse with a good hitter placing it through the gap.
If you don't hold the base runner, he gets a better (much better) jump from 1B and a throw to 2nd would be all but useless.
That is the idea behind it.
