In any event, I don't have a problem with the RCMP's actions here. I'm 100% behind the officer's right to smoke legally prescribed medical marijuana to help with PTSD, but not while he's on duty, and certainly not while he's wearing his uniform. If he's unable to perform his duties without taking the drug, then he should be placed on paid administrative leave while he receives help. And yes, I realize that we've done an abysmal job of helping those with PTSD thus far, but this case should be a call to action to improve that failing, not to make an exception that allows a Mountie to smoke up while on duty.
