Well, the cars should have been rendered all but useless by now, so who knows how long it'll last in TV land.

Most car batteries wouldn't have lasted a year+ unused, and gasoline gels and clogs up the tank or engine and hoses within a year too.

A car that gets some use might be fine, but those would be harder and harder to find as time goes on. More importantly, usable gasoline would be near impossible to find at this point. Which is kinda funny, considering the few times they use a vehicle, they generally have to travel pretty far, so they'd be using a lot of gas, even if they only use the car say once a week.

It wouldn't be impossible to have a working car at this point, but it'd be getting damn near close.

There could be economies based on trade, if there were two groups large enough to conduct it, but I dunno about currency. From what we've seen of the world, it's hard to imagine groups large enough. But it could be there are pockets undisturbed and even thriving.
