Berra's aggressive tendencies are the problem. He needs to better decide when to jump forward and when to play closer to the net. It helps at times, but then he gets caught moving too much and puts the entire team on an adventure (or just fishing the puck out of their net) because he just couldn't sit still.
These sorts of things can be worked out; Berra's aggressiveness is a benefit when it's used effectively. But always going out to meet the shot can be a detriment.
Not saying Ramo would be better (impossible to tell since he's been effectively stapled to the bench - maybe Hartley knows something we don't), but the way Berra plays causes goals out of the most unusual circumstances.
