There is sort of a huge difference between FOX picking up the NFL and this. Namely that FOX had never produced sports ever before acquiring the NFL. Sportsnet has an already terrible track record; FOX had no track record. Sportsnet also doesn't have FOX type money to throw around. I mean Sporsnet paid $5.2 billion, or roughly half of Rogers entire revenue last year. NewsCorp meanwhile paid $4.27 billion for 6 years in the last NFL deal; it made $35 billion in revenue. We'll see if Rogers ponies up, but FOX simply had so much more money that they could afford all the top talent available. I don't think Rogers will do the same (or if they do expect that buck to be passed on)
