I guess that's confusing for me. I go to work in the dark and get home in the dark in winter. I would prefer the hour in the evening, not the morning. Either way, we don't LOSE an hour anywhere. It's not like the sun just goes out for an extra hour. It's still a usable hour of sunlight in the morning or in the evening.

It's not usable for a lot of people.
If I play hockey until 11:30pm, waking up at 6 to go to work for 7 so that I can get a bit of sunlight by leaving work at 4 isn't reasonable.
If we stay on DST and it stays light until 6pm, then I can still live my life as normal and work 8-5 and get some sun after work.
