Edmonton does not have the cap room. Capgeek doesn't show the bonus cushion correctly. You are only allowed to have X dollars of bonuses defferred on the cap. The Oilers exceed that amount therefore the some of the bonuses count on this years caps. So they are actually out of cap space after the Bryz signing.
I posted the exact details somewhere in the Bryz signing thread but I am too lazy to go back and link. If you look at the footnotes in capgeek it explains the situation as well.
