Well not always, but if you go to court to plead guilty and go to them before and just explain the situation, offer to pay the ticket, they will make it a Registered Owner (I think that is what it is called) and you won't have to worry about the insurance. That is my best advice from having talked to one of the big boys down there about the issue. Whatever you do don't go into the court room trying to macgyver in the court room, it will p*ss off the lawyer posing as a judge and you will just be put in a situation where you don't ask the questions right and you will have to pay the whole thing. Just be respectful, and offer to pay the full cost of the ticket (it will help) and they will knock it down.
