There is something seriously unbalanced about the assault riffles and carbines. Playing support last night I was struggling to stay around a 1.0 KDR. LMGs seem balanced just right in that you need to tap-fire to maintain accuracy. Full auto is a sure-fire way to miss anything you're shooting at. However, think the Bi-pod needs to reduce recoil and spread a lot more than it currently does.
Assault riffles and carbines however are laser beams. Nobody on my team was reviving or dropping med kits so I switched over to assault and instantly went 13-3. You barely have to try with those weapons. Just unload a clip in an enemy's direction and you're practically guaranteed a kill.
