I watched about half of yesterdays game and wish Poirier had more ice time. I was constantly looking for 72 and whenever I saw him he made an impact. Whether it be blocking a shot, laying out a devastating hit or keeping the cycle going on the forecheck, he made a positive impact. Easy to tell the guy is physically ready for pro hockey.
Some time in the AHL will help him round out his game. It does seem like he's got room to grow offensively (yes I know he's ripping it up in the QMJHL). With his size and speed this kid can make things happen on every shift. I can't even imagine how deadly he would be with a hard accurate wrist/slap shot.
