I don't like when the city bans things like this out of principle. In practice though, I can't recall any new houses that still have door knobs and prefer the lever handles myself as they are easier to open when your hands are full.
That said, my front door is one where you have to push down and pull.
Which I like but would be hard for someone with grip strength issues to open with one hand and given my knowledge of how slippery slopes work I am now against this because I am worried about where they will stop.
