Totally incorrect. Mike Keenan had the most talented Flames roster assembled since the early 90's. Brent had similar for about 6 months until that January weekend when Darryl essentially destroyed that roster. Take a look at the roster he had to begin the 2011/2012 season. Brendan Morrison was the top line center for a lot of that season for crying out loud. Then compare that to the 2008/2009 roster Keenan had to work with. Not even close especially when you consider Iginla and Kipper were probably at the pinnacle of their career under Keenan.
As far as I'm concerned Hartley has much better center forward depth than Clarke Wilm and Jeff Schantz in prominent roles. I don't think some of you realize just how bad some of those young guns rosters were. Much less talent in comparison with the rest of the league than this years team.
