On the whole, I have not been enjoying The Walking Dead this season as much as past seasons. This was the least interesting episode to date. The Governor from last season was a one-dimensional cartoon villain that by all rights should have had a mustache to twirl in most of his scenes.

Now, suddenly, the writers are trying to convince us that there is depth to his character and are portraying him as an almost sympathetic guy? Nice try. You know all of this is going to come crashing down when our buddy Brian runs into anyone he knows from his past. Anyone that witnessed the horrors and atrocities committed by his hand.

This episode felt like a back door pilot (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph....BackDoorPilot) and with a spinoff series already in the works, I pray to all beings holy that the producers weren't using this to gauge fan reaction to the Governor as the star in the new vehicle.
